'Basmala' in Thuluth Script, Carved Walnut Panel
In the classical tradition, the Basmala is the first work that reveals a master's maturity. This panel was carved from a walnut log seasoned for three years. The letters were first drawn to thuluth proportions, then carved with fine relief and finished with natural oil. The grain of the wood adds depth without breaking the flow of the script.
