The surface of this ewer is filled end to end with a spiral weave that draws the eye inward. The rumi scrolls follow one another to set up a sense of the infinite; this fullness, leaving no empty ground, is patience made visible. The blue may seem a single colour, yet in the light it separates into light and dark tones.
